Jane Doe 4 has joined a federal lawsuit against xAI, the artificial intelligence company owned by Elon Musk, following the discovery that her stepfather created over 7,000 sexually explicit images of her as a child. The lawsuit, which began with three Tennessee teenagers, seeks class-action status to represent thousands of minors whose childhood photos were transformed into child sexual abuse material by the Grok chatbot. Jane Doe 4 reported that her stepfather used the Grok AI engine to manipulate a photo taken when she was 11 years old, creating and distributing these images online. The discovery occurred during a law enforcement raid on her stepfather's electronic devices, two days before he was found dead by suicide. The complaint alleges that xAI failed to take basic precautions to prevent the chatbot from generating nonconsensual sexualized content.
