A 91-year-old woman drove a Tesla into a security kiosk in Los Angeles, killing one pedestrian and injuring four others. The collision occurred shortly before 1:30 p.m. at the Gilmore Station shopping center in the Fairfax District, near the intersection of Third Street and Fairfax Avenue. The vehicle plowed into the security stand located in front of the parking lot shared by a Trader Joe's grocery store, Mendocino Farms, and Sidecar Doughnuts. A woman in her 30s was pronounced dead at the scene. Four others were taken to the hospital, including a 19-year-old man with serious injuries and two women, aged 30 and 57, with minor injuries. The 91-year-old driver was also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver stated she attempted to stop the vehicle, but it continued to accelerate despite her foot being on the brake. The Los Angeles Fire Department reported the crash as an accident. The incident remains under investigation.
