Majed Al-Nazili confirms Yemeni military launched 181 operations against Houthi positions across multiple fronts.
The Yemeni military, led by spokesperson Colonel Majed Al-Nazili, executed 181 military operations over the past 24 hours. These strikes utilized drones, artillery, and rocket launchers to target Houthi militia positions, assets, and threats across various combat sectors including Taiz, Marib, and Mokha. The operations resulted in dozens of Houthi fighters killed and injured, while destroying weapons depots and military equipment. Simultaneously, the Houthis launched a wave of missiles and drones at Marib and the coastal city of al-Makha. These attacks wounded several civilians and caused material damage to residential neighborhoods. In response to the heavy losses sustained by the Houthi militia, the group began releasing hundreds of prisoners from prisons in Saada, Hajjah, and Sanaa. These detainees were required to sign pledges to join the battlefronts in exchange for having their legal cases dropped or settled. The conflict, which began in 2014, has seen a significant escalation recently. UN humanitarian chief Tom Fletcher warned that 6 million people in Yemen face emergency levels of food insecurity. Nobel peace laureate Tawakkol Karman also highlighted the Houthi rebels' primary responsibility for the state's collapse.
