Volodymyr Zelenskyy Denies Ukrainian Involvement in 2022 Nord Stream Pipeline Sabotage

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated on Sunday that Ukraine was not involved in the planning or execution of the 2022 sabotage of the Nord Stream underwater gas pipelines. This statement comes as German authorities have alleged that the Ukrainian state ordered the operation to halt Russian gas supplies and reduce the revenue used to finance the war. Zelenskyy emphasized that Germany was well aware of Ukraine's lack of involvement and expressed a desire to maintain strong partnerships and trust with European allies. He noted that Ukraine is actively assisting German authorities with the investigation through its Prosecutor General's Office and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. While German prosecutors have detained suspects, including a Ukrainian national, Zelenskyy maintained that his country did not stand behind the operation. He stressed the importance of preserving the trust of the countries that have been supporting Ukraine since the beginning of the war.
