President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's plane narrowly avoided a drone strike during his flight from Moldova to Norway
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Oslo on Tuesday evening to attend the funeral of King Harald V. During his journey, his plane was nearly hit by a drone as it took off from Moldova. Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store reported that the flight was almost struck by the drone, noting that this is the reality the Ukrainian leader faces. While in Norway, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held talks with Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store, Finance Minister Jens Stoltenberg, and Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide regarding Norwegian military aid and civilian assistance. The leaders also met with defense industry executives to discuss the FREYJA anti-ballistic system. Following the funeral, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy traveled to Canada for further talks with national leaders. The drone incident occurred as Russian drones have frequently violated the airspace of Moldova and Romania in recent months.
