Tropical Storm Marie forms in the Pacific Ocean and moves westward toward the Mexican coast.

The National Meteorological Service (SMN) reported the formation of Tropical Storm Marie in the Pacific Ocean during the first hours of Tuesday, September 1. The storm is currently located 760 kilometers southwest of Manzanillo, Colima, with maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour and gusts reaching 95 kilometers per hour. It is moving westward at a speed of 15 kilometers per hour. Tropical Storm Marie is expected to move away from the national coastlines without representing a direct risk to the territory. However, the storm's wide circulation will significantly increase the probability of rainfall in western Mexico. The system is likely to form a tropical depression during the next few hours, likely moving towards the west-northwest along the coast of Western and Southwestern Mexico. This precipitation may result in coastal inundations or waterlogging due to soil saturation from previous rains. The system also indirectly reinforces electric lightning rainfalls in the coasts of Guerrero and Oaxaca, with estimated accumulates of 30 to 50 mm on average.
