Mavis Tire Express Services Corp. has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Pep Boys – Manny, Moe & Jack, the largest tire dealership in the United States. The acquisition will increase the company's total number of locations to more than 4,000. Owned by Icahn Enterprises, Pep Boys operates nearly 800 locations across the United States and Puerto Rico. The deal is expected to close in the coming months, following a series of major purchases by the White Plains, N.Y.-based company. These include the acquisition of 1,200 Midas locations and 595 National Tire & Battery and Tire Kingdom stores from TBC Corp. Mavis co-CEO David Sorbaro stated that the move marks a significant milestone in the company's growth strategy. He noted that Pep Boys is a well-respected name in the automotive aftermarket. The acquisition is expected to provide a loyal customer base and a distribution network that will enhance the company's supply chain nationwide. The combined brands will create a geographically diverse platform capable of providing dependable service to a larger customer base.
