President Volodymyr Zelenskyy Brands Russian Missile Strike That Killed Five Members of the Voronov Family a Horrific Crime
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy described a Russian ballistic missile strike as a "horrific crime" after it decimated a home in Radushne, near his hometown of Kryvyi Rih. The strike killed five members of the Voronov family, including parents Artem and Olena and three of their children, while six other family members remain missing. The tragedy occurred during a period of intensified Russian shelling, which has caused a growing number of civilian deaths. During the same week, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with President Trump in Washington to request a license for Ukraine to produce its own Patriot interceptor missiles. The administration announced that the production of these systems could take a significant amount of time to set up. Additionally, the strike occurred as Russia began utilizing North Korean ballistic missiles for the first time since August 2025. These weapons, which have longer ranges and larger warheads than Russia's Iskander missiles, are being integrated into Russia's long-range strike packages to capitalize on Ukraine's shortage of high-end interceptors.
