Benedetto Vigna confirms Ferrari's first all-electric vehicle, the Luce, has met its initial sales targets despite early criticism.
Benedetto Vigna, CEO of Ferrari, stated that the automaker is highly satisfied with the launch of the Luce, the company's first all-electric vehicle. Despite facing significant criticism and a notable 8.4% drop in shares following its debut, the administration of the company confirmed that the Luce reached its sales target of just under 500 units in less than two months. While critics, including former executive Luca di Montezemolo, initially questioned the design, the Luce has proven successful in expanding Ferrari's portfolio. The vehicle, designed by Jony Ive, features a minimalistic interior and a bubbly exterior. Strong demand from the Chinese market has been a primary driver of these early sales. Vigna noted that he would not change anything about the launch, maintaining that the company is proceeding as planned to generate revenue and satisfy a price-insensitive customer base.
