Johannes Kongsnes Natland Convicted of Conspiracy to Murder in London Court
Johannes Kongsnes Natland, a 19-year-old Norwegian teenager, was convicted by a jury at the Old Bailey in London of conspiracy to murder. The conviction follows a plot where Natland was recruited by the Foxtrot Network, an international organized crime group linked to the Iranian regime, to carry out a contract killing in the United Kingdom. Natland was hired by a 17-year-old recruiter known as "Generalen" and guided by a Swedish-Iraqi gangster named Ali Shehab. The network utilized a "gamified" approach to recruit vulnerable teenagers, treating them as "enforcers" who carry out missions for cash. Natland traveled to Huddersfield with weapons and ammunition, but was arrested by specialist firearms officers before he could identify his specific target. The Foxtrot Network has been linked to various attacks on Israeli and Jewish targets across Europe. The UK government sanctioned the organization in April 2025, highlighting the gang's role in the Iranian regime's strategy to wage a "war of terror" across the continent.
