The Gann Fire, a fast-moving wildfire in Calaveras County, California, expanded to 6,495 acres by Tuesday evening. The blaze originated near Hogan Dam and Gann roads on Monday afternoon and has burned through dry grass, brush, and oak woodland. Despite a lack of extreme fire weather, the fire is burning aggressively due to high fuel loading and dry vegetation. Firefighters and air crews are working to build containment lines in rugged terrain. As of Tuesday evening, the fire remained at 0% containment. More than 250 personnel, including 50 engines and four helicopters, are combating the fire. Mandatory evacuation orders are in effect for several zones, including CCU-109, CCU-110, CCU-130-B, CCU-139, CCU-140, and CCU-147. Residents and small pets are being sheltered at the Jenny Lind Memorial District in Valley Springs. Livestock are being accommodated at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds.
