Rep. Ralph Norman has officially announced his candidacy for the U.S. Senate seat in South Carolina following the death of the late Lindsey Graham. The House Freedom Caucus member intends to focus on the legislative agenda of the administration, specifically highlighting the SAVE America Act and the goal to "nuke" the Senate filibuster. While the administration announced a "complete and total endorsement" for Darline Graham, the late senator's sister, Norman remains undeterred. He noted that while he respects the president's choice to support her, he is committed to winning the seat. Norman’s bid comes as several other candidates enter the fray, including businessman Mark Lynch and Rep. Russell Fry. Despite the heavy influence of the administration, political analysts suggest that South Carolina voters desire a variety of choices rather than a simple coronation.
