The Coca-Cola Co. has suspended U.S. production for its Fairlife milk brand following a ransomware cyberattack.

The Coca-Cola Co. announced on Thursday that a ransomware attack has forced a temporary suspension of production operations for its Fairlife milk brand in the United States. An unauthorized third party gained access to the Chicago-based brand's production systems, prompting the beverage giant to take operations offline to investigate the breach. The company confirmed that while the full scope and nature of the incident are still being determined, product quality and safety remain unaffected. Fairlife’s production in Canada continues to run normally. The Coca-Cola Co. has engaged external cybersecurity experts to assist with the investigation and has notified law enforcement. Fairlife, which the company purchased in 2020, generates over $3 billion in annual retail sales. The brand is known for its variety of lactose-free products, including milk and protein shakes. The Coca-Cola Co. is currently working to restore the impacted systems and resume full production as quickly as possible.
