Marco Rubio hosts 66 nations to address the rise of left-wing political terrorism

Secretary of State Marco Rubio convened a global conference on Thursday to coordinate a response to the "alarming rise" of left-wing political violence. The summit, attended by representatives from 66 countries, aimed to address what the administration identifies as a significant blind spot in international counterterrorism doctrine. During the meeting, Rubio characterized left-wing activists as "enemies of civilization" and "an encroaching darkness," arguing that the left often uses the language of equality to mask a "poisonous resentment" toward the West. Supporting this view, Stephen Miller described the leftist as being fundamentally motivated by envy and hatred. To combat these threats, the administration announced a new visa restriction policy targeting members of far-left terrorist groups and their allies. While the conference focused heavily on Marxist and anarchist movements, critics noted that the strategy largely omitted right-wing extremism. Despite the heavy focus on the left, the administration continues to prioritize the defeat of "communists" who seek to dismantle traditional American life.
