The storm system is expected to produce 2 to 3 inches of rain per hour, with some areas north and west of New York City receiving as much as 5 to 6 inches. The heavy rain will gradually shift north and east of the city overnight, while the FAA has issued a warning regarding significant flight delays at major airports, including Newark International Airport, which is already seeing delays of nearly 4 hours.
