Yahya Saree reports that Houthi rebels killed at least 30 government soldiers during intense missile attacks in Yemen.
Yahya Saree, a Houthi military spokesman, reported that Houthi rebels killed at least 30 government soldiers and injured 15 others during a series of missile and drone attacks on military camps in the Hadramout and Marib governorates. The attacks, described as the deadliest in years, targeted several government military formations, including the Homeland Shield Forces and the Emergency Forces. Government sources confirmed the strikes, framing them with the Yemeni military as a response to their own offensive actions. The US embassy in Yemen characterized the other side's attacks as "cowardly" and described the strikes as an example of terrorism against the Yemeni people. Yahya Saree warned that the attacks followed military build-ups by Saudi-backed forces. Meanwhile, deputy chairman of the Yemeni Consultation and Reconciliation Authority, Abdul Malik al-Mekhlafi, stated that the Houthis are targeting government positions due to intensifying pressure. The conflict has intensified recently after four years of relative calm, with the Houthis also announcing a maritime blockade on Saudi Arabia.
