Nolan Wells is remembered during a funeral as his family and civil rights leaders call for justice following his mysterious death.

Nolan Wells was honored during a funeral at Center Pointe Church in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, as his family and national civil rights leaders sought answers regarding his mysterious death. The 18-year-old was found dead on the shores of Horn Island two days after a July 4 boat trip with a group of friends. While his friends returned to the mainland, Wells remained on the island, leading to intense speculation about the circumstances of his passing. The administration of the investigation is currently ongoing, with the Jackson County Sheriff's Office and the FBI examining digital evidence and interviewing witnesses. Family attorney Ben Crump is leading an independent investigation and has coordinated with District Attorney Angel Myers McIlrath to present the findings to a grand jury. During the service, Rev. Al Sharpton delivered a eulogy and announced a $100,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. The funeral was attended by notable figures including Tyler Perry, Spike Lee, and Terrell Owens.
