President Trump says the United States hit Iran hard to honor fallen soldiers as regional tensions escalate.

The administration announced a new wave of strikes against Iran to degrade its ability to attack commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. These strikes follow a month-long unraveling of an interim ceasefire agreement, leading to a cycle of hostilities that has disrupted global energy supplies and pushed oil prices above $90 per barrel. President Trump said the United States hit the region hard in honor of the soldiers killed during the conflict. To date, 17 U.S. military personnel have been killed and more than 420 wounded since the war began in February. In response to the American offensive, Iran launched retaliatory strikes against Bahrain, Jordan, and Kuwait. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps reported damaging U.S. aircraft at Aqaba Airport and destroying radar systems at Ali Al Salem Air Base. While the U.S. continues to target Iranian infrastructure, including the Darkhovin nuclear power plant, Iran has condemned the strikes as aggressive assaults on its peaceful infrastructure.
