Mojtaba Khamenei warns the U.S. of "unforgettable lessons" as Iran launches a wave of strikes against regional allies.
Mojtaba Khamenei, the supreme leader of Iran, stated on Saturday that the Iranian nation and the Resistance Front have "unforgettable lessons" in store for the United States. These remarks follow a seventh consecutive night of U.S. strikes against Iran, which the administration initiated after President Trump declared the previous ceasefire agreement "over." The Iranian attacks targeted several U.S. allies, resulting in the deaths of two American troops in Jordan, with a third soldier remaining missing. Iran also struck civilian infrastructure in Kuwait, damaging a vital water desalination plant and an oil facility. In response, Kuwaiti officials accused Iran of committing "war crimes" by targeting civilian sites. The administration announced that the strikes were designed to degrade Iranian military capabilities, including underground weapons storage and maritime infrastructure. While Iran claimed to have blocked four ships in the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. military disputed Iranian claims regarding the explosion of two oil tankers. As hostilities continue, oil prices rose sharply, with Brent crude advancing 4.6% to $88.10 a barrel.
