Kazem Gharibabadi states that Iran has suspended its commitments to the Islamabad MoU following repeated violations by the United States.

Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, announced that Iran has suspended all commitments within the Islamabad memorandum of understanding due to violations by the United States. The statement follows a series of U.S. military strikes that have killed at least 50 people and injured more than 500 since July 6. The administration announced that the memorandum of understanding is effectively suspended as Washington continues to target Iranian infrastructure, including a desalination plant that left 10,000 people without water. In response, Iran has launched retaliatory drone and missile strikes against U.S.-allied Gulf states, including Kuwait and Jordan. While President Trump declared the agreement "over" during a recent NATO summit, Iran maintains its right to control shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Despite the administration's efforts to reduce oil prices through a naval blockade, Tehran accuses the U.S. of committing war crimes by targeting civilian infrastructure. Iran remains committed to defending its territory against the "imposed" war.
