President Trump directs military to ensure Iran pays for every American soldier killed during the escalating conflict.
The administration announced that the U.S. military will hold Iran accountable for every American soldier killed during the ongoing conflict. President Trump stated that Iran must pay for each death "many times over," a directive he passed to Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The conflict has intensified following a series of Iranian strikes, including a recent barrage on a U.S. base in Jordan that killed 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan and Pvt. Isabella Gonzales. In response, the U.S. military has conducted nine consecutive nights of airstrikes targeting Iranian command centers and maritime capabilities. These actions have contributed to a rise in domestic gas prices, which reached an average of $4 a gallon. While the U.S. and Iran inch closer to all-out war, diplomatic efforts continue. Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni traveled to Pakistan to seek a new deal, while Secretary of State Marco Rubio noted that while Iran signals a desire to talk, the U.S. remains focused on responding to Iran's current behavior.
