Frank Bisignano denied allegations that he surveilled fellow executives while serving as co-chief operating officer at JPMorgan Chase over a decade ago. The Wall Street Journal reported that Bisignano directed security staff to monitor internal communications to maintain control over employees and undermine rivals, including Charlie Scharf. Bisignano dismissed the reports as "really bad journalism for political reasons," maintaining that the claims are untrue. His attorney, Courtney Forrest, also denied that Bisignano ever engaged in a pattern of undermining colleagues or directed staff to monitor specific communications. Despite the allegations, the administration appointed Bisignano to lead the IRS and the Social Security Administration. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent praised Bisignano for his operational excellence and results-driven mindset. While JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon previously lauded Bisignano’s corporate leadership, the bank has since applauded his public service. Bisignano currently oversees the implementation of the Trump Account savings vehicle while serving as the chief executive of the IRS.
