Irvine Police Seek Identification of Suspect Who Vandalized 13 Tesla Vehicles with Political Labels
Irvine Police Officer Ziggy Azarcon reported that authorities are seeking the public's help to identify a man who spray-painted at least 13 Tesla vehicles in separate incidents at a local plaza. The suspect, a man in his 20s or 30s, used red paint to mark the cars with terms such as "Nazi" and "Fascist." Police surveillance footage shows the suspect in a parking garage near Michelson Drive, where he was seen pulling his shirt over his mouth while vandalizing the vehicles. While the suspect wore different shirts in various videos, he was identified by his consistent footwear and a noticeable tattoo above his right elbow. Investigators are currently looking into the motive behind the vandalism, though some victims believe the man may have a political grievance with Tesla CEO Elon Musk. The Irvine Police Department has increased patrols in the area and urged residents to park in well-lit, populated areas to avoid further damage.
