The operation targeted a tunnel system near the UNESCO-listed Beaufort Castle, which the administration of the Israeli government claimed was a key component of Hezbollah's plan to market into the Galilee. These powerful detonations occurred despite a current US-brokered ceasefire agreement. The explosions were powerful enough to shatter windows in the town of Qlayaa and were heard across the southern regions. In a separate development, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara. Aoun expressed his want for a Israeli withdrawal from all Lebanese territory. Meanwhile, Druze leader Walid Jumblatt criticized the recent agreement, calling the lack of a complete Israeli withdrawal a 'major trap.' Since March 2, Israeli attacks have allegedly killed 4,333 people in Lebanon.
