Israeli Settler Benayahu Killed During Village Attack, Sparking Wide-Scale Military Response in West Bank
Israeli settler Benayahu was killed during a violent confrontation in the village of Tal, where more than 20 settlers attacked Palestinian homes. The incident began when residents drove back the attackers, but the settlers returned with Israeli soldiers. During the chaos, a Palestinian man seized a settler's rifle and shot Benayahu dead before soldiers intervened. The administration of the Israeli government responded with a wide-scale military operation, including demolishing the attacker's home and revoking work permits in several villages. Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir called for an "iron fist" response, and 26 army battalions were deployed across the West Bank. The violence has triggered a series of retaliatory attacks, with settlers burning homes and mosques. Meanwhile, in Gaza, the humanitarian situation continues to deteriorate as the Israeli army advances its control lines. The Israeli government has also approved the entry of an International Stabilization Force from friendly countries to assist in areas not under Israeli control.
