The 30-year-old man was shot multiple times during a physical altercation in the 2200 block of North Lincoln Avenue on Sunday night. Following the incident, the administration ordered the immediate summary closure of The Dime bar for up to six months, citing it as a public safety threat. While the shooting occurred outside the establishment, the bar's owners expressed condolences and noted that the incident is currently under active investigation. Timmy Knudsen has led an aggressive push for new restrictions, including limited late-night licenses and improved parking enforcement. He expressed confidence that the Department of Business Affairs & Consumer Protection will recognize this homicide as sufficient evidence to support these changes. To improve safety, police will provide additional patrols on the 2200 block, including a permanent weekend patrol.
