Lindsay Clancy faces murder trial over the deaths of her three young children in Massachusetts
The murder trial of Lindsay Clancy has officially commenced in Plymouth Superior Court, where she faces three counts each of murder and strangulation for the deaths of her three children in 2023. Prosecutors allege that Clancy made a calculated and meticulous decision to kill her children, Cora, Dawson, and Callan, using exercise bands while her husband, Patrick Clancy, was away from the home. The defense, however, argues that Clancy lacked criminal responsibility due to severe postpartum psychosis and a documented history of mental health struggles. During the opening statements, defense attorney Kevin Reddington highlighted Clancy's history of seeking medical treatment, while prosecutor Shanan Buckingham emphasized the intentional nature of the crime. Patrick Clancy took the stand as the first witness, providing testimony regarding his wife's deteriorating mental state and the intrusive thoughts she experienced before the killings.
