Tanner Hunt faces additional misdemeanor charges following a high-speed crash that killed brothers Prestin Strassenburg and Zaiden Strassenburg.

Tanner Hunt, 28, of Elkhorn, faces a second criminal case following a high-speed collision that resulted in the deaths of two young brothers. The crash occurred last Thursday near 114th Street and West Center Road when Hunt’s Chevrolet struck a Subaru, splitting the vehicle in half. The impact killed 10-year-old Prestin Strassenburg and 5-year-old Zaiden Strassenburg. Authorities determined that Hunt was traveling at 98 mph one second before the impact. Investigators found that a combination of alcohol and Adderall contributed to the accident, with Hunt’s blood alcohol level measured at .095. While Hunt is currently charged with motor vehicle homicide and DUI causing serious bodily injury, the administration of the court added three misdemeanor charges on Tuesday: no proof of insurance, driving with a revoked license, and refusal to submit to a blood, breath, or urine test. Hunt remains at Douglas County Corrections on a $10 million bond, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for August 17.
