Jordan Salinas, a 35-year-old healthcare worker, was credited by Twin Falls police with limiting the number of victims during a mass shooting at an In-N-Out Burger restaurant on Saturday. Salinas responded to the gunfire by drawing a semi-automatic pistol from his shoulder holster and returning fire against the gunman, Chad Williams. Police officials stated that the actions of Salinas and an off-duty officer diverted the shooter, preventing further casualties. Chad Williams, a 24-year-old student who attended the College of Southern Idaho, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after killing three people and wounding seven others. Salinas noted that his quick response was an "automatic" reaction based on firearm training he received after a previous deadly shooting in Boise. Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks confirmed the threat to the community is over and stated that authorities are working to determine the shooter's motivations. Roads in the area remained closed as the police continued to interviews with hundreds of people in the vicinity.
