The Feliz Fire in the Hopland area of Mendocino County has grown to at least 841 acres, prompting several evacuation orders and warnings from the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office. Cal Fire reported that the blaze was 5% contained as of 9 p.m. Saturday night. U.S. Highway 101 was closed for several hours but has since been fully reopened from Largo Road to Hewlett Sturtevant Road. Caltrans advised motorists to use caution as emergency vehicles continue to navigate the roadway. State Sen. Mike McGuire praised the regional response, noting that land and air resources from Mendocino, Lake, and Sonoma counties are assisting in the firefight. Three night-flying helicopters were ordered to the area to provide additional support. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
