Courtney Arbour highlights a massive $1.19 billion lottery weekend for Texas players as Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots reach record heights.

Courtney Arbour, executive director of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, announced that lottery players have a significant opportunity to win this weekend as the Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots combine for a total of $1.19 billion. The Mega Millions jackpot has reached an estimated $672 million, ranking as the 10th-largest in the game's history. This drawing follows 35 consecutive rounds without a winner. The Powerball jackpot has also climbed to an estimated $526 million after 33 drawings without a grand prize winner. These two major games offer players a chance to become billionaires, with the Mega Millions offering a cash option of approximately $293.3 million and the Powerball offering a cash value of about $233.5 million. The excitement coincides with National Lottery Day on Friday. Revenue from these sales supports Texas public education and veterans' programs, having generated over $43 billion for the state since 1992. Officials encourage players to participate responsibly as the jackpots continue to grow.
