Abbas Sajwani, the son of Dubai property tycoon Hussain Sajwani, purchased the megayacht Amadea for $187 million. The vessel was seized by federal authorities in 2022 as part of a financial crackdown on Russian oligarchs following the invasion of Ukraine. The Justice Department alleged the yacht was owned by Russian mining tycoon Suleiman Kerimov. After a lengthy legal battle, the yacht was auctioned by the U.S. Marshals Service. The director of the Marshals Service, Gadyaces Serralta, was appointed by President Trump. While the government did not initially announce the price or buyer, documents reveal Abbas Sajwani's purchase price and his family's business partnership with the Trump Organization. Sajwani's father, Hussain Sajwani, previously appeared with President Trump at Mar-a-Lago to announce a $20 billion investment in U.S. data centers. The proceeds from the sale are expected to benefit Ukraine, as a 2024 law allows the government to use seized Russian state assets to support the country.
