Kendra Scott faces first-degree murder charges after allegedly shooting a man discovered hiding under her daughter's bed in Memphis.

Kendra Scott was charged with first-degree murder and employing a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony after she allegedly shot Rodderius Morton in Memphis. Police responded to a shooting call on Travis Road, where they discovered Morton in a front yard with a gunshot wound to the back of his head. According to an affidavit, Scott discovered Morton hiding under her daughter's bed after he was invited into the home. Scott told investigators she "did what I had to do" after finding him. A witness reported that Scott had previously warned that she would "put a hole" in any boy she found in her house. Following the incident, a judge set a $100,000 bond for Scott, who is currently being held without bond. The next court date for the 36-year-old mother is scheduled for August 3.
