Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has launched Muse Code, a new terminal coding agent designed to handle complex software engineering tasks across large code bases. The tool, which is currently in beta, allows programmers to plan changes, write code, and validate results within a single interface. Powered by the Muse Spark model, Muse Code utilizes a harness system that fans out tasks to separate sub-agents working in parallel to ensure efficiency. Alexandr Wang, Meta’s AI chief, stated that the tool aims to differentiate Meta from competitors like OpenAI and Anthropic by offering a more affordable price point. While Meta continues to heavy investment in data centers and computing infrastructure, the new agent provides a pay-as-you-go option and a low-cost contributor tier.
