Phong Le highlights Strategy Inc. balance sheet strength through cash reserves and bitcoin monetization
Phong Le, CEO of Strategy Inc., stated that the firm realized the importance of maintaining liquid U.S. dollars over liquid Bitcoin for balance-sheet strength in 2026. During the second-quarter earnings call, Le explained that robust dollar reserves are essential for funding dividend obligations on the company's Perpetual Stretch Preferred Stock. Strategy Inc. currently maintains $3.75 billion in cash reserves, which is sufficient to cover more than two years of dividend and interest obligations. While the company remains the world's largest institutional holder of bitcoin, it has begun a monetization program to sell BTC to bolster cash reserves and fund share repurchases. This strategy marks a shift from a "never sell" thesis, as the firm has already offloaded 3,620 BTC in 2026. Strategy Inc. reported quarterly revenue of $122.39 million, slightly missing the consensus estimate of $122.91 million. The company continues to develop Digital Credit as a new asset class while aiming to return its stock to a healthy trading range near par.
