Vadym Iermolaiev accuses Ukrainian military intelligence of organizing the attempted murder of his family in Monaco.

Vadym Iermolaiev, a wealthy Ukrainian businessman, has publicly accused the country's military intelligence agency, the GUR, of organizing the attempted assassination of his family in Monaco. The attack occurred on June 29, when an explosive device detonated outside his residence, severely injuring Iermolaiev, his partner Anna, and their 13-year-old son. Iermolaiev described the blast as an "attempted murder" rather than a mere warning, noting that the perpetrators detonated the bomb despite a woman and child standing nearby. The investigation identified Anastasia Berezovska as the primary suspect who planted the explosives. Following the attack, Berezovska fled to Ukraine, where she was later killed. Ukrainian authorities have arrested two men, Vladyslav Reut and Vitaliy Zhykovych, in connection with her death. While Reut, a GUR officer, confessed to the killing, Iermolaiev argues the conspiracy involved high-level officials within the intelligence service. The incident has become a point of scrutiny for President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as it risks straining relations with European allies if the intelligence agency is found to have acted without official authorization.
