President Trump Vows to Destroy Iranian Infrastructure for Every Ship Attacked in the Strait of Hormuz
President Trump announced that the U.S. will bomb and destroy one bridge or power plant in Iran for every new attack the Islamic Republic of Iran launches against a ship in the Strait of Hormuz. This retaliatory measure follows a period of escalating maritime tension where Iran has attacked more than 30 commercial vessels over the last three months, threatening global trade and causing oil prices to jump over 4% to nearly $95 a barrel. While the U.S. military insists the waterway remains open, many shippers are reluctant to transit the strait due to Iranian aggression. To counter these threats, the administration announced a series of 11 consecutive nights of strikes against Iranian assets to degrade the military's ability to threaten civilian mariners. Meanwhile, the administration also signed a commercial nuclear deal with Saudi Arabia, allowing U.S. companies to run nuclear power for the nation. President Trump also traveled to Dover Air Force Base to honor fallen soldiers, including Lt. Tyler James Feehan, who were killed during the ongoing conflict.
