David Braddon was sentenced to an additional three years and seven months for managing bank transactions while serving a life sentence for the murder of Conner Marshall. The convicted murderer admitted to using a mobile phone in prison to direct three women to move more than £50,000 between various bank accounts. These transactions involved the accounts of 59 people, including relatives of prisoners at several locations. Claire Jones, a former probationary prison officer, was sentenced to two years and nine months for her role in the crimes. Karen Graham and Gemma Phillips were also involved in the other transactions. The offenses were discovered when a prison officer at HMP Parc received a Facebook message from Jones, who was instructed to meet an inmate. Judge Tracey Lloyd-Clarke allowed Nadine Marshall, the mother of the murder victim, to read a personal statement. Nadine Marshall expressed that the news of the further offending brought back painful memories of her son's death. Braddon apologized for his crimes during the sentencing.
