Philadelphia police Officer Kenroy Cummings was taken into custody after allegedly fatally shooting a man during a domestic incident in Northampton County.

Philadelphia police Officer Kenroy Cummings was taken into custody after allegedly fatally shooting a 27-year-old man in Allen Township on Friday. The incident occurred just before 2 p.m. at a home on the 1200 block of Old Gate Road. Pennsylvania State Police responded to the scene following a report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, troopers found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Officer Kenroy Cummings, who was off-duty at the time, fled the scene in an orange Kia Forte. State troopers eventually spotted the vehicle in Hanover Township and initiated a pursuit. The vehicle eventually returned to the original crime scene, where the officer was apprehended without incident. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead at 2:45 p.m. While the victim's identity is being withheld until the autopsy is complete, neighbors suggested the deceased was the uncle of Officer Kenroy Cummings. The Philadelphia Police Department has initiated an administrative investigation, and criminal charges are forthcoming.
