While Daniel Flores filed a harassment lawsuit against the city of Los Angeles, the District Attorney's office chose to prosecute the officer who recorded the conversations rather than the coworkers who made the remarks. Defense attorney Alan Jackson noted that Daniel Flores did not leak the recordings but provided them to Internal Affairs as an official complaint.
