The Ohio Fire has expanded to 1,000 acres northeast of Hailey, prompting immediate evacuations for residents in Blaine County.

The Ohio Fire, a fast-growing wildfire burning off Ohio Gulch Road, has expanded to 1,000 acres, forcing Blaine County officials to issue urgent evacuation orders. Residents in the Indian Creek zone, Ohio Gulch, and the Heatherlands Valley Club are under Level 3 “Go” status and must leave immediately. The Hiawatha and East Fork-Triumph zones are under Level 2 “Set” status, requiring residents to prepare for a quick departure. Fire crews from multiple departments, including Ketchum and Sun Valley, are battling the blaze, which is spreading rapidly through sagebrush. To facilitate emergency operations, the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office has closed Buttercup Road at Highway 75 and Red Devil Lane. Officials have requested that the public avoid the area and refrain from flying drones, as drone activity can interrupt aerial firefighting efforts. Evacuees can find shelter and support at Life Church or WR Middle School. While the fire's cause remains unknown, the sheriff's office urged the public to monitor official updates rather than calling dispatch for status reports.
