Josh Shapiro Criticizes President Trump for Claiming Election Integrity Issues in Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro described President Trump as "unhinged" and "untethered from reality" following a recent address regarding election integrity. During a rally in Harrisburg, Shapiro criticized the administration's focus on Chinese efforts to undermine U.S. elections, calling the speech "crazy." Shapiro defended the state's voting process by noting that he won 43 different lawsuits challenging Pennsylvania's votes. He argued that the administration's critique of the state's elections was an insult to the intelligence of the American people. The event also served as a platform for the Democratic Party to launch "Rise Up," a coordinated voter registration initiative. Shapiro stated that the campaign aims to secure a Democratic majority in Congress to pass policies such as a higher minimum wage, codified abortion rights, and more affordable housing. Democratic candidates Janelle Stelson, James Malone, and Sara Agerton also spoke at the rally to support the new initiative.
