General Mills recalled nearly 736,000 Pillsbury bread rolls across 19 states due to potential glass contamination.
General Mills issued a voluntary recall of nearly 736,000 Pillsbury bread rolls after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration identified potential glass contamination in the products. The recall, which began on June 19, affects 3,080 cases of "Hard Roll Dough" and 1,260 cases of "Kaiser Roll Dough." These frozen dough products were sold exclusively to Walmart in-store bakeries for use in 19 states, including California, Texas, and New York. The federal agency classified the move as a Class II recall, indicating that while the glass may cause temporary or medically reversible health consequences, the probability of serious adverse effects is remote. A spokesperson for General Mills stated that the company acted out of an abundance of caution to ensure food safety. All impacted products have been removed from bakery shelves. The recalled items have a "better if used by" date of October 12 and 13. General Mills, which also owns brands like Cheerios and Nature Valley, noted that the recall is limited in scope and highly contained.
