Russian regional authorities are increasingly restricting citizens from filming the damage caused by Ukrainian drone strikes deep within Russian territory. While no federal law exists, regions such as Kursk, Leningrad, and Volgograd have banned the gathering and dissemination of attack footage to prevent it from falling into the hands of the enemy. In Volgograd, three people were arrested for sharing footage of a military location hit by a missile. The detainees were required to film apologies, with one high school graduate admitting he no longer needed to film objects after realizing the consequences of his actions. Another woman apologized for sharing a video of a missile flying toward a plant, noting she did not realize her footage would be viewed negatively by the government. A third detainee urged others to never share audio or video messages, warning that any information could easily end up with the enemy. These measures reflect a strategic shift as Ukraine uses drones to degrade Russian infrastructure and military capabilities.
