Martin Limpert, managing director of Range Rover, revealed that the new Range Rover GT will serve as a sophisticated grand tourer rather than a replacement for the Velar. The vehicle features a lower, wagon-like stance and sits on the new EMA flexible platform, which allows for both full battery electric and hybrid configurations. The GT distinguishes itself from the rest of the Range Rover lineup by prioritizing a car-like driving experience over heavy off-road capabilities. The interior focuses on a "sanctuary of calm," utilizing OLED screens and a head-up display while maintaining some physical buttons for driver convenience. The model will offer both a 2+2 interior layout and a more practical three-seat rear bench. Land Rover plans to build the GT in the UK. While the vehicle will launch as a purely electric model, the company intends to introduce a hybrid version later in its life cycle to provide more options for customers.
