Lindsay Clancy, a former labor and delivery nurse, is on trial for the 2023 deaths of her three children: Cora, Dawson, and Callan. Prosecutors argue that Clancy planned the killings and bears full responsibility for the deaths, while her defense team plans to raise an insanity defense based on postpartum psychosis. During testimony, her ex-husband, Patrick Clancy, described the mental state of Lindsay Clancy during the final months before the children died. He noted that she suffered from severe anxiety and depression, and eventually began experiencing intrusive thoughts about harming the children. However, Patrick Clancy testified that he never personally witnessed her harm the children. On January 24, 2023, Patrick Clancy left the house briefly to pick up takeout, and during that time, Lindsay Clancy allegedly strangled her three children in the basement using exercise bands. Following the killings, Lindsay Clancy jumped out of a window and was paralyzed in the fall. The trial is expected to last several weeks.
