The administration announced that a leadership reshuffle is underway in Ukraine's military following a breakdown in the relationship between commander-in-chief Oleksandr Syrskyi and defense minister Mykhailo Fedorov. While the general staff denied immediate reports of a sacking, thousands of rioters have gathered in Kyiv to demand that Mykhailo Fedorov be reinstated. Fedorov is credited with driving military innovation and scaling up drone procurement over his six months in office. Conversely, Oleksandr Syrskyi has defended his record against critics who accused him of lacking a clear strategy. To mitigate internal friction, Kyrylo Budanov, the president's chief of staff, urged the public to remain calm as the government seeks a resolution. Protesters have set a deadline of Friday, July 24th, for the government to return Mykhailo Fedorov to his post. If the deadline is missed, rioters have threatened an open-ended nationwide protest.
