President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that a massive wave of drone and ballistic missile strikes by Russia killed at least 17 people and injured 44 others in Kyiv. The heavy strike, which included 24 ballistic missiles and 115 drones, primarily targeted civilian warehouse facilities and infrastructure. Zelenskyy noted that a lack of sufficient ballistic missile interceptors from international partners could have prevented many of theties casualties. He urged allies to provide more anti-ballistic systems or implement new sanctions on Russia's ballistic missile production. Ukraine remains heavily reliant on the American Patriot PAC-3 system. While President Trump has shown a willingness to support Ukraine, he recently expressed uncertainty regarding whether the United States would allow Ukraine to produce its own Patriot surface-to-air interceptor missiles. Meanwhile, Russian forces have intensified strikes to exploit Kyiv's air defense shortage, while Ukraine has targeted Russian retail giant Wildberries to test the resolve of President Vladimir Putin.
