The vessel sank on Tuesday with 20 people on board while the group gathered to scatter the ashes of Maria Vi Boisa, a woman who died over a decade ago. Authorities recovered the body of Tondra Madruga, a 58-year-old resident of Folsom, two days after the accident. She was the second person confirmed dead, following 79-year-old Clifford Boisa, who died after being pulled from the water. Two people remain missing as the Coast Guard has suspended rescue efforts. The San Francisco Police Marine Unit used boat-mounted sonar to locate the wreckage near Alcatraz, which currently sits in approximately 120 feet of water. Friends of Tondra Madruga described her as a joyful person who left a lasting impact on those who knew her. Her family expressed their heartbreak over the loss and requested privacy as they grieve the death of their mother, daughter, sister, and aunt.
