Junior Cee Niko Semo, Carlos Israel Sanchez Villalba, and Ashley Whitehead killed in Seattle food festival gunfight
A deadly street gunfight at the annual Bite of Seattle food festival left three people dead and at least four others injured on Sunday. The victims were identified as Junior Cee Niko Semo, Carlos Israel Sanchez Villalba, and Ashley Whitehead. Police suspect the 19-year-old Junior Cee Niko Semo was involved in the gunfight, while a 15-year-old boy is currently in custody on suspicion of firing into the crowd. Authorities believe the shooting may be gang-related, involving two groups exchanging gunfire. Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson condemned the gun violence, noting that the community is in mourning. A candlelight vigil was held on Monday to honor the deceased. While the 15-year-old suspect is in detention, police continue to search for a third possible suspect. The victims were treated at Harborview Medical Center, where a 2-year-old boy was discharged in satisfactory condition. Witnesses described a stampede of people fleeing the area as the shots rang out, with some initially confusing the gunshots with fireworks.
